Discounting Your Future

Discounting Your Future - this is a concept a large amount of people don't consider. I don't blame us! Its human nature to simply want the things we want for the lowest price. We are so concerned with being satisfied now that we leave room to do ourselves harm in the future. Im not here to pitch you a giant pros and cons list...I really just want to give you a step in the right direction. When you are looking to work with a Realtor, whether to buy or sell your home, make sure you are careful what you wish for. People often start with the intention of getting a deal. Getting a deal is also a part of our nature - but it is where you expect to get a deal during the process of buying or selling your home that you need to consider.
If you are selling your home, and your goal is to find the agent that will discount their commission the most, you are also looking for the agent that will discount their services to you the quickest. Remember, McDonalds does not serve top quality steak, and when you work with a McDonalds type of representative you are likely to receive a low grade burger result. You have to consider that the agent readily willing to discount their expertise by lowering their commission will be readily willing to lower their services and attention to you. When you are dealing with some of the largest decisions of your life, you want to make sure you have a professional on your side that has made your priorities, their priorities. You do want to make sure the best possible price is being negotiated for you, right? You're excited that your home is being advertised in every way it needs to be for maximum exposure to produce multiple buyers! Or is it?. Having to worry wether your agent will answer the phone at 9:45pm on a Friday from a perspective buyer ready to negotiate a deal is not something you need keeping you awake at night, is it?
In almost every case you will receive your "deal" in the services your professional provides you. Having a dedicated Realtor who will gain you more profit during the servicing, marketing and negotiating process, is much more valuable than the agent who will cut their commission in half. In some cases, commissions can be negotiated depending on the situation, but for your futures best interest do not make this your deciding factor. Find a professional that will get the job done, and done right!
